Morphed Solo Show at D’art Gallery in Denver
The new solo show, Morphed, is exhibiting in Denver at D’art Gallery from October 26-November 19, 2023.
Morphed is a new series of abstract expressionism paintings with watercolor, gouache, and sumi ink on basswood panels. This series began when I lived in California and wanted to replace my grass due to a drought. My research led me to create xeriscape gardens beneficial for pollinators.
I aim to illuminate the importance of pollinators and the urgent need to protect their habitats. With the declining populations of butterflies and other pollinating insects, we face a looming threat to global food security and ecological stability. I strive to raise awareness of this pressing environmental issue through my art.
The vibrant and dynamic colors in my paintings mirror the diversity and vitality of pollinators, highlighting the symbiotic relationship they share with the natural world. As viewers engage with my artwork, I hope they are inspired to pause, reflect, and consider pollinators' immense impact on our lives. By cultivating an appreciation for the intricate dance of nature, we can foster a sense of interconnectedness and compassion towards all living beings.
