Outsourced

Outsourced is a project that began while photographing the beautiful historical buildings on Mare Island in California. The Mare Island Naval Shipyard was an important Pacific Ocean access shipyard. The beautiful colors and textures, enhanced by a foggy marine layer, felt melancholy when coupled with the history and dead silence of abandonment. The earthquake damage to brick adds an extra element of interest and texture.

Here is a collection of photos taken on Mare Island, California. 30″ x 40″ giclee prints on cotton rag paper, circa 2016.
